Proposals are how DAO members suggest executing onchain transactions. They’re a core function, enabling members to shape and drive a DAO’s actions through governance.
The Problem
Despite the rise of DAO tools, proposal workflows remain clunky and disjointed for many teams. We designed Decent’s proposal framework to address this, drawing inspiration from intuitive, effective web2 applications.

Decent consolidates all activity across the app into a single proposal, making governance seamless for facilitators and reducing the overhead for participants. This framework empowers DAOs to do more with less hassle.
Creating Proposals
Decent makes proposal creation simple and efficient, empowering your DAO to handle everything from routine tasks to custom actions with ease. With tools like Smart Contract Automation, Actions, and our Custom Proposal Builder, you’ll have everything you need to move ideas into action effortlessly.
Smart Contract Automation
DAOs often need recurring proposals for tasks like treasury requests, payroll, or creating roles. Decent automates this by capturing and aggregating these functions, removing the need to create each proposal manually.
Actions
When your DAO needs to add one-off tasks within a proposal, initiating separate voting rounds for each task can be inefficient. Decent’s ‘Actions’ feature lets you include these quick tasks right in the initial proposal, giving you the flexibility to get things done without requiring additional votes.
Custom Proposal Builder
The Custom Proposal Builder in Decent guides you through each step to launch a proposal onchain in an intuitive interface.
Setting up a proposal is straightforward. Just add the transaction details—the target smart contract address, the action type, and any other specifications. Once this information is set, all you need is a quick signature, and your proposal is ready to go live.
For Safes governed by onchain token voting, you can also add metadata like a title, description, and resource link to give context (multisig Safes don’t require this step).
After passing an onchain vote or multisig approval, proposals enter a short Timelock period. Decent then automatically executes all transactions within the proposal and updates the state tag to Executed—so you can stay focused on what matters, knowing everything’s handled onchain.

Proposals are easy to track at every stage, with clear Proposal State tags such as Active, Executed, or Rejected indicating the status at a glance.
Proposal Templates
Decent simplifies proposal creation with Proposal Templates. Common functions are structured as templates, so members can use them instead of starting from scratch—reducing errors and maximizing efficiency.
Creating a template mirrors the proposal creation process. Once complete, it goes through DAO governance for approval, after which it’s available for use across your Safe.
